The Center of Advanced Computational Engineering and Science (CACES)
The CACES integrates the strength of individual faculty members in computation, modeling, and optimization to solve challenging engineering and scientific problems. The center currently has three research focuses, including
- multiscale (atomic-meso-marco) simulation in solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer,
- accelerating computation-demanding applications using GPU, FPGA, or heterogeneous architecture,
- engineering design and optimization in energy harvesting and conversion.
The center also provides the computation, modeling, and optimization support for experimentalist to enhance the theoretical understanding of experimental results and better design of experiments.
