An open house of Vg100 (Introduction of Engineering) will be held, showcasing 28 research projects of the freshmen. From deciding topics, planning, dividing labor, purchasing material, to experimenting, adjusting, and completing the projects, the students have done it all independently by teamwork. They were asked for a simple design to improve the quality of daily life. The subjects are broad.
Vg100 was designed for freshmen. It combines introduction to important subject matters in engineering with technology exchange and technical writing. Through small-group experiments, it aims to improve the students’ capabilities of solving engineering problems based on basic knowledge. This course was introduced from University of Michigan. After several years, it has developed its own characteristics in teaching content and model.
All interested students, faculty, and parents are welcome. Those high school students and parents who are interested in UM-SJTU JI are also invited to learn about the Joint Institute.
