Professor Dugnani has broad interests in the field of solid mechanics, especially theoretical and experimental fracture mechanics. His current and past topics of interests include:
- Efficient Computer Vision-based algorithms for automated fractographic analysis
- Modeling three-dimensional, unstable fracture behavior of brittle materials
- Modeling/analyzing the physical behavior of ion-exchanged silicate glasses
- Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) of composite structures; damage detection and image reconstruction schemes based on surface waves propagation.
