Position: Postdoctoral Researcher in the Nonlinear Nanophotonics Lab

Prof. Wan’s main research focuses on experimental work on nanophotonics, nonlinear optics & quantum optics both at fundamental physics level and applications. We’re exploring new physics at nanoscale with its potential applications. Successful candidates are expected to conduct experimental work on optics as well as numerical simulations. Micro-fabrication experience is a Plus ,but not necessary.

Position: Postdoctoral Researcher in the field of Micro and Nanoscale Heat Transfer
- directed by Prof. Hua Bao

Number of available position: 1

工作职责:
The successful candidate will conduct cutting-edge theoretical research in the area of micro and nanoscale heat transfer, especially in the energy carrier (phonon, electron, and photon) transport and conversion area. The research will be focusing on thermal transport and energy conversion in nanoscale renewable energy materials (such as superlattices and quantum dots for thermoelectric or photovoltaic applications). One immediate project will be developing a method to calculate phonon-phonon scattering and phonon-electron scattering rate based on ab initio calculations.

职位要求:
• Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Material Science, Chemistry or related field
• Solid background in least one of the following subjects: solid state physics, quantum mechanics, or electromagnetic theory.
• Previous experience with ab initio calculation, molecular dynamics, or boltzmann transport equation is preferred.
• Be able to communicate and write technical documents in English.

Position: Postdoctoral Researcher in the Laser Precision Manufacturing Lab
- directed by Prof. Huan Qi

工作职责:
• Conduct independent research in laser-aided materials processing and precision manufacturing for advanced materials used in propulsion, energy, life sciences and other industries, including laser additive net shape manufacturing, laser welding and laser micromachining.
• Use both theoretical and experimental approach to understand, optimize and innovate the laser additive material deposition for advanced materials processing including the following topics
• Transport phenomena modeling for material processing
• On-line optical diagnostics and closed-loop control
• Non-equilibrium synthesis of materials with tailored properties
• Help the faculty adviser to supervise graduate students, write grant proposals, and manage the daily operation of the research lab;
• Candidates are expected to publish their work in strong English-language journals.

• Ability to conduct independent research;
• Strong hand-on experimental skills with experience working with high power lasers, CNC controllers and other industrial machines

Position: Postdoctoral Researcher in Surgical Robotics

- Directed by Prof. Kai Xu

Number of available position: 2

工作职责:
The successful candidates will join an interdisciplinary team to develop a multifunctional endoscopic device and a laparoscopic robotic device for surgical applications. Important aspects of the problems include designing actuation and mechanisms, developing kinematics/elastics/statics models for control, developing calibration and compensation algorithms for prototypes, preparing animal studies, etc.

机器人创新与交互实验室于2010年由徐凯教授归国后创立,致力于先进机器人技术在医疗卫生(特别是临床手术)的应用,本次招聘博士后两名,参与三星综合技术院“全球研究拓展计划”资助的“单口腹腔镜手术机器人”项目。

岗位职责:

1.在教授指导下,团结在岗研究生、本科生,负担项目的部分设计、开发和管理工作;
