Several programs are specially designed to recognize the contributions of TAs to the JI, these include:

Teaching Assistant Certification Program: All TAs who successfully complete an 8-hour training offered by CLT-JI and fulfill their TA job responsibilities as directed by the respective faculty supervisors will receive a Basic Teaching Assistant Certificate at the end of their employment period. TAs who completed an additional 8 hours of CLT-JI training plus further TA-related work (such as serving as peer mentor or a second term as TA) may receive an Advanced Teaching Assistant Certificate.

Teaching Assistant Peer Mentor Program: This program invites interested TAs who have served successfully at least one term at the JI to apply for peer mentor positions. The peer mentors assist JI TA with their assigned duties, and support CLT-JI TA training programs as conference helpers and workshop facilitators.

Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award Program: JI honors up to four TAs each year for their outstanding work during the preceding February-December time frame (spring-summer-fall semesters of the same calendar year). Any student, faculty member, or staff member at the JI may nominate a candidate for the award, and the decision is made by a faculty committee of the JI.
