A Note about JI's Trimester System
The Joint Institute differs from SJTU in its trimester schedule.
In order to allot time during the year for more Study Abroad opportunities in the Winter vacation and to host UM faculty and students during the Summer term, the JI has adopted a different schedule from SJTU.
Registration dates and the start of the Fall term match the SJTU calendar. JI students enroll in courses using SJTU's online enrollment system.
The JI observes all national holidays and all University holidays with the exception of Fall, Winter and Spring vacation periods.
